This has got to be my favorite (Chinese) hot pot place of all time. The parking lot has generous parking spots and there could be a wait time if you go during dinner on the weekends but the wait is never more than 30 minutes. This place was decorated so nicely that it felt like I was transported to the other side of the world. The service was excellent they helped explain everything from the menu to how everything works. It is on the pricier side but it is worth every scent to the savory soup bases with fresh meats. They also have a sides and sauce bar so make sure to check it out! I can't stress how authentic this place is and not trying to be dramatic but it changed my life.

Place was excellent, food was excellent, and customer service was great. They're gonna run through everything for you. If you're going with other people, once you all scan the menu.....it's gonna add everyone's items of choice so be careful! It can end up being pricey. You have to pay online as well. They don't do cash. Fellas, if you're looking for a good date spot whether it's lunch or dinner for that special person, check this place out!

What a beautiful restaurant! The inside of this restaurant is all wood and red cloth, detailed carvings and booths with plenty of privacy. The spice level on this Chinese hot pot location is not an exhaggeration! Although I routinely put Sriracha on my food, XiaoLongKan level 2 spicy is enough to make me sweat, so be careful and don't ego order here! The options for vegetables, meats, and noodles are huge, and you order everything via your phone, so it's easy to request additional things while you eat. The serving staff are attentive and will continually check to make sure your hot pot isn't boiling over, everyone has adequate water, etc. There's a walk-up bar for you to mix your own spices while you eat, and Haagen-Daas ice cream to cool your palate after eating something so deliciously spicy! Parking is free and easy in a large parking lot out front of the entrance, so no worries there!

This place was gorgeous. I really wish that more hot pot places where this beautiful. I loved the traditional Sichuan decor. I would definitely recommend trying to call ahead for seating, or making a reservation because this place gets so busy. The service itself was exceptional. Our server actually had to make sure I was ok with the spice level 3 times, because they're mala flavor hot pot is authentically Sichuan Hot pot. BEWARE: If you do choose to get the Mala flavor hot pot it is spicy and the longer you eat it the more you will feel the numbing effects of Szechuan peppercorn. I am not a novice when it comes to spicy food so of course I got the normal level of spice. Which is like a level 10 by Sichuan standards. The server will ask you if you want to do the sauce bar. It is an extra charge of $3. DO IT! NO CAP! It is so worth going to the sauce bar to dip your meat and vegetables in. They also have complementary shrimp chips, ice cream, frozen lemonade, and side dishes for that extra $3. This is unlimited all you can eat. They had Häagen-Dazs, ice cream bars, and Chinese Popsicles. I had probably three Häagen-Dazs and to Chinese Popsicles.. I'm telling you for three dollars do the sauce bar! My recommendation if it is your first time eating hot pot and you do not know what to get to put in your hot pot. I recommend getting one of their set menu boxes. In the picture below, you can see a wooden box with nine smaller squares. In this box, there is spam, imitation crab meat, spicy Szechuan beef, beef brisket, quail eggs, fish tofu, vermicelli noodles, potato, and Lotus root. We also got an additional serving of beef brisket, tofu skin, wood ear mushrooms, and beef tripe. Pro Tip: Ask for the long chopsticks when you want to dip your food into the hot pot. It will save you from scalding yourself.

I love hotpot, it's one of the best things in the world. I really try to get out to at least 1 hotpot restaurant when traveling and Shoo Loong Kan is good, very good. The restaurant is decorated with traditional wood paneling, red drapes and lanterns. It definitely transport you to another place. Each table has a built in stove with ample table space for all of your items, there's also an additional cart pulled up to the end of table for extra space, very well thought out. Orders are done via QR code. In one pot you can order up to 3 broths or just one broth if there's a strong preference. There are many choices of hotpot items from meats to noodles, everyone will find something. Then there's an option to pick your own sauces. The Mala broth is my favorite, the meats really picked up the flavor of the broth. Side note: Mala is only for cooking not drinking. Service was wonderful. We were checked on multiple times, cooking times were provided and they even helped us with our sauces. Must eat in Houston.
